You might be a ...oh, never mind.

I admit it, I love celebrity-endorsed products. I'm not talking about the good kind, like A-lister Nicole Kidman for Chanel. I'm talking about the other kind. The kind that makes you say, "What the heck were they thinking?" or "They must really need the money".

I spotted this in the local Safeway, right above the cheap beer. When you think of Jeff Foxworthy, do you think of teriyaki jerky? I know I will from now on!

Jerky

Who can forget my other favorites- Tommy Lasorda's "It's not sorta good, it's Lasorda good!" Popcorn or George Jones Dog Food? Have you seen Dwight Yoakam's line of frozen food?

I know someone who actually met Smokey "The soul is in the bowl" Robinson when he was at a local Pak 'n' Save promoting his frozen gumbo.

Those are the kind of celebrity-endorsed products I really love. I'm not saying I would actually eat any of that stuff. How about you? Do you have a favorite?

ps- I also adore bad celebrities on informercials. Do not get me started.

Looka me (shameless self promotion)

The Adorn blog recently featured a few projects from Wardrobe Refashion including a couple from yours truly. Aw, shucks!

Here is a bag I got from a friend at a Naked Lady Party (get your mind out of the gutter, it's not what you think!). I added the applique myself.

Here is one side of a quilt I am making from t-shirts. You or someone you know has a ton of t-shirts & here's just one idea for what you can do with those shirts. I used the rest of the shirts for reuseable cleaning rags. Save a paper towel and all that.  I'll bet you could come up with all sorts of good ideas for soft t-shirt scraps. How about making your own earth-friendlier baby wipes? I don't actually have a baby to wipe, but I love to take baby wipes along when I'm camping. Great for washing hands and all over, really.

Wardrobe Refashion participants pledge to abstain from purchasing new items of clothing for the term of their contract (2, 4 or 6 months). They also pledge to refashion, renovate, and recycle then post the results. I only pledged for two months, but it was a lot of fun and the message really stuck with me so I continue to renovate a lot of my old stuff instead of buying new. If you haven't been over to check out WR, what are you waiting for? We at Cheetah Velour Industries highly encourage you to sign up and show off your stuff.

(Thank you Susan and Adorn!)

I love craigslist

Hello. I have a very nice washing machine/dryer combination that I can't possibly fill with my own clothing. You may come over and use it every week or so in exchange for a nice home-cooked meal.

Why use the depressing laundromat when you can come to my place for free?

My home does feature a big screen tv and a secret torture hole. I hope this is not a deal breaker.

Thrift dress

I just don't have good thrift clothes mojo. Seriously, it's very rare that I find something interesting that actually fits me. Then I found what could very well be my new favorite dress. I wasn't even looking. It found me, jumped out at me, and told me to take it home. At least it felt that way at the time.

Wraparound_dress

It's a wrap around dress. I have no idea what this dress is all about, where it came from, or how old it is, but it spoke to me. And it FIT! There are a few tears and a bit o' mending to be done, but let's just call it 'character', shall we?

I wish I took a better photo of the details, but here's a close up of the fabric. It has pictures of green cats, some roosters, birds, a water wheel and grass roof huts. I am confused yet delighted.

The construction is very much like this:

I have no idea what this dress is all about or where it came from. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
