Tip o' the hat to Kitschy Kitschy Coo for sharing a sweet ad for the Chevy Nova (with tent option!!!) and inspiring me to share a little something from my own Nova collection.
It's not much of a 'collection', really, but I am the proud driver of a '76 Nova Concourse (aka Grandma's Grocery Getter) and I do have a few magazines and ads lying around. I know a bunch of you are gardening this year. You've been saving your milk and juice jugs just for this, right?
Practically free homemade irrigation system!
If you haven't tried this yet just fill it up with water, poke a wee hole near the bottom, put it next to your plant. You might want to experiment with hole size (I used thick pin to keep mine at a slow dribble) and taking the lid partially or all the way off. Some people put rocks in the bottom of the jug to keep it from blowing away.
I just got so sick of watching all the water run through the planter (how many gallons would that be?). Now the little roots are getting a nice slow drink instead.
So what are you growing this year? I have green beans, tomatoes and jalapeno peppers! Or at least I will have them.
PS- You could probably get some plastic jugs on Free Cycle or Craigslist if you don't happen to have any.

I haven't been able to find out too much about this, but you can find more information on Roadside America including some words from the daughter of the man responsible. She disagrees and says that the lamb(s?) lived for a short while.
This sort of thing happens more often than you might think.
