get your smokey on!

When I was a kid (2nd grade?) I signed the pledge and became and official Junior Forest Ranger for Smokey Bear. I still have my signed pledge, autographed picture of Smokey, song sheet (yeah, Smokey has an official song) and memebership card (I lost my badge, though). I took my responsibilities very seriously (still do) and probably annoyed the heck out of all the adult smokers around me. ;)

To this day, I'm a big fan of Smokey. On a recent thrift store excursion I found two fabulous curtain panels featuring my favorite bear! These are the curtains I would have loved to have had back in the 70's, but it's never too late, is it? Getting ready to move soon, and I think these will look great in the craft room.

I dated smokey bear for a few months in college.

when i did my internship for the forest service, the USFS fire barracks next door to my barracks were having a big festival one day. I came home to find smokey in my livingroom taking a break. we went out later that night, and dated the whole summer.
