Some time ago I found a photo album in a junk shop. It was FULL of pictures from someone's vacation in 1972- Switzerland, Italy, England. Seemed a shame that anyone would ever let go of this, so it came home with me.

 

A honeymoon, perhaps?

 

All of my favorite photos are of this mystery woman. She's so stylish!

This is one of my favorite vintage photos, found in a thrift shop.

 

The back says 'B____ (Birdie?), Mary, Mrs. Lund, John, Vincent, Joy & Warren taken 50 miles from San Diego' and is dated February 6, 1929.

 

Look at those great kids!

 

Maybe they are in their 80's now and they fondly remember the day it snowed near San Diego, CA.

I was lucky enough to find two portraits of this lovely lady. I wonder who she is?

I don't know these sweethearts, but aren't they adorable? I can't even recall where I picked up this picture- some flea market or junk shop most likely.

I like to imagine happy stories for the strangers I take home with me (in photos, I mean!). I imagine these two lived happily ever after and had lots and lots of grandchildren.

I met this dancing cutie in a thrift store.

I don't know who she is, but the photo is stamped St. Paul.

I hope she became a big star.

This week I bring you the last photo of my imaginary family from Chicago.

The back of this photo only gives the name of the baby. Who is the woman? Could it be Ella ,also known as E.K.P? Sister to Bert and Archie?

I can't put my finger on it, but something about her look is very modern, like this could have been taken yesterday even though it's dated 1892. 

Ella, I never knew you but please know that your family has a home with me.

This week, here's another relative of Bert and Archie- Grandmother Shaw.

 

The back of the photo says she was born in 1802. Not sure how this could be, since the photo of papa states he was a young man (with a beard, no less) in 1830+. Wouldn't that make them around the same age? Maybe she was a VERY young mother. Maybe Grandmother Shaw just wanted to shave off a few years. Maybe you've done it, too!

 

I just love this.
