Contrary to popular belief, I don't bring home everything I see at the trift stores. I may not have taste, but I do have my limits.
Here are some recent thrift flops. I know they're just waiting for someone to appreciate them, but that someone is not going to be me.
First off we have this grandfather clock AKA That 70's Clock. Nothing too wrong with it at first glance.
For me, the deal-killer was the feathered clock face.
Maybe the fact that it was marked down to practically nothing made me think that no one else wanted it, either.
Personally, I think it would go great with this coffee table. Yeah, the one with the huge branch sticking out of it.
And what is this thing? I feel a little sorry for it, because some kid made this and now it's sitting in a thrift store. Of course I didn't feel sorry enough to take it home with me. Perhaps someone else will find that it's exactly what they were looking for.
There was a huge stack of these things. When I say huge, I mean there were at least two or three dozen or more all sitting in a bin. I know I don't have to spell it out for you, but people were avoiding these like the plague.
Ok, I'm done griping for now, but I'll keep my eyes open for more thrift flops to share with you! You've been warned.
Hi there - I've been enjoying your blog. I agree with you about most of your 'thrift flops', BUT the things that look a bit like penguins, are Malfi toys by Friends With You - http://www.friendswithyou.com/page/toy-store. They currently retail at $21.98! I'd die to find them at a thrift store!!!
Oh well, one man's meat...

The link above won't work because the full stop (period) has been added in. I'll try again
